Prof. Jeff Yarger directs a research group and teaches undergraduate and graduate students at Arizona State University (ASU) in the area of Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Soft Matter Physics. Dr. Yarger's research labs include extensive instrumentation for the structural and dynamics characterization of amorphous materials, nanomaterials and biological polymers. This includes the Magnetic Resonance Research Center (http://nmr.asu.edu), which Dr. Yarger is the founding and current director. Current instrumentation includes Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, Solid State NMR, Micro Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Raman, FT-IR, Brillouin, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), TGA, Liquid Chromatography (LC), EDM, Optical Microscopy, Inert Atm. Gloveboxes, Schlenk Lines for Chemical Synthesis, UV-Vis spectrometers and Fluorescence Spectroscopy.

Dr. Yarger has appointments at Argonne National Laboratory (Advanced Photon Source) for conducting synchrotron x-ray diffraction research projects and at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (Spallation Neutron Source) for neutron diffraction research projects.
